On 19 February 2024 the Minister for Social Services the Honourable Amanda Rishworth MP announced the appointment of the National Disability Data Asset Council. Minister Rishworth said the work of the Council and panels would support the Government’s overarching agenda to improve the wellbeing of all people with disability through responsive policies and programs.

The Council co-chairs are: Catherine McAlpine (community co-chair) and Luke Mansfield (government co- chair).
The community Council members are: Dr Scott Avery, Giancarlo de Vera.
The expert Council members are: Professor Bruce Bonyhady, Commissioner Rosemary Kayess and Professor Julian Trollor.
The state and territory government Council members are: Zoe Dendle, Marion Hailes-MacDonald, Carley Northcott.
The Australian Government Council members are: Dr Phillip Gould, Gemma van Halderen PSM.
