The National Disability Data Asset Council (the Council) met on 6 May 2024.
During this meeting the Council approved the:
- priorities for Australian Government funded research and sharing information.
- proposed work and membership of the Disability Data Development Scoping Panel (Scoping Panel), which will provide advice to the Council on future panels they could set up.
- proposed work of the Disability-informed Ethical Oversight Panel, which will review project proposals with a disability perspective to make sure projects do not cause harm to people with disability.
- the membership of the Ethical Oversight Panel will be decided out of session ahead of the next meeting.
The Council also commenced discussion on:
- community engagement
- the process for researchers to apply and use the National Disability Data Asset. This includes the Charter requirement for researchers to share accessible findings publicly.
These two items will be discussed further at the next meeting, which will be held in August 2024.
